Are there any Lagrange points between two stars, beyond the Oort cloud in empty space?
Stars move around in relation to the other stars around them as they all swirl around the core of our galaxy. Lagrange points work when two object orbit one another, but in the case of passing stars I don’t think Lagrange points apply. A Lagrange point between two stars orbiting each other is not impossible. Neither is it impossible for there to be a Lagrange point in between a large galaxy and an orbiting dwarf galaxy. However when you are dealing with objects on this scale there are more variables to take into account: Other stars passing by two orbiting stars, the effects of the galactic core’s pull on the two stars, the halo of dark matter surrounding our galaxy, the expansion of space over vast distances. The equations for this stuff just explode with variables.
