Are there any more sinister examples of pseudoscience?
The most sinister examples are in the medical field. People can die if they rely on, say, homeopathy. There is absolutely nothing to homeopathy. They are just drinking ordinary water because they are diluted to the point where there are no molecules left of the original drug so it is a crazy point of view. But it is more popular now than ever before. You go to mainline drugstores and they have a whole section of homeopathic drugs. Homeopathy has a big theory behind it. If you take a drug that causes symptoms similar to the symptoms of the disease then you dilute it. The stronger you dilute it the more powerful the drug. It is a crazy point of view. But there are people who swear by it. But that’s where I think pseudoscience can cause a lot of harm. Did you ever suffer abuse from the Christian right? No I havent. I don’t think people on the Christian right know I exist. But that is not true of Scientology. I have been on their hit-list. I did some early articles attacking Scientology. I
