Swimming is just about the best you can do; it exercises the whole body and is low impact on everything but if you really want to do more then here are a couple of simple routines that can be useful.. 1. You can do this standing or sitting down so long as you have room to spread your arms wide and out in front of you. If you have weights then use the smallest, if not then get a couple of cans of baked beans or soup, or whatever..a small bag of rice in each hand will do nicely. Lift your hands up in front of you with your arms out straight and when they are parallel with the floor, hold for a count of five then spread your arms wide and hold again for five, return to the forward hold for another five and then lower them slowly to a resting position. Repeat five times on the first day and then add reps and time as you go along. 2.Lie flat on the floor and lift your legs from the hips until your feet are a couple of inches off the ground; hold for a count of five and then lower gently, re
