Are there biblical courses offered to offenders?
RESPONSE:Biblical courses are offered to the offenders in TDCJ. The Chaplaincy Department offers the Life Changes Academy which include:1. Family Programs involving Family Seminars and Parenting courses.2. Life Skills Programs consisting of seminars, classes and small group interaction to deal with the inner issues of life including self-esteem, codependency, chemical dependency and relationships.3. Growth Groups consisting of accountability groups such as Christians Against Substance Abuse and Promise Keepers.4. Spiritual Group groups consisting of the same types of activities that would be found in the typical church, mosques, or synagogues.All of these programs or classes are biblical or according to the particular faith group’s Holy Book.
