Are there different types of shoulder replacement prostheses?
The type of prosthesis needed will depend on the condition of the patient’s shoulder. Some patients have conditions other than osteoarthritis, the most common reason for shoulder replacements, that require the use of a reverse type shoulder prosthesis. Dr. Friedman is one of a few surgeons in the Southeast using this particular prosthesis.
