Are Year-Round Schools Better?
among, I am not sure how some parents do it. The major question right now is, should students be placed in schools systems that run year-round or one that has a summer break. My personal education has been in both America and in Japan. Therefore I have had both year-round and one with a summer break. My year-round schooling was in Japan and my traditional school year system was in America. Personally, I feel as though I liked the summer breaks rather than the year-round program. Year-round is a great concept however I am not sure if students get enough time to be what they are- children. During a meeting in New York City on August 11, 2007, Paul von Hippel, a sociologist at Ohio State University reported to American Sociological Association members that his studies found there was no difference in tests scores among students in the two different school programs.
