Are you bemused with how suddenly Taylor transformed from a supremely skilled boxer to a shambles.?
I don’t know about shambles, he basically came up 20 seconds short of winning the 168 world title. Taylor was never going to be confused with the most skilled boxer in the world, but he fights hard and takes on anyone – he really is one of the class acts in the sport. He has come up short recently, but its against top level competition, and he is always very competitive. His lack of polish is what ruins his stamina, he really wastes so much energy with the way he throws his right hand, and his movement in general. I don’t think this is going to change, but he has a good jab and hand speed, and enough skill and experience to be a very tough fight for any world champ from 160-175. I was at the fight Saturday, and it was a phenomenal matchup that deserves a rematch.
