As an Opposition leader, what are you doing to check corruption in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD)?
As you know, the BJP is not the ruling party in the MCD. Therefore, it is the Congress Party, which is responsible for whatever is going on in the corporation. However, as the leader of the Opposition, I have always tried to highlight the shortcomings of the ruling party, particularly when they happen to undermine the interests of the people. I highlighted the case where a false Scheduled Caste certificate was submitted before the Election Commission by Sunita Bharati for contesting the MCD election from Subhash Nagar, a reserved segment. I had also raised the case of Sunita Maggo, who had not attended the corporation proceedings for three months without intimation. According to the law, if a councillor does not attend the corporations proceedings for three months, his membership stands cancelled.
