Lectopia recordings are based around a time schedule. The schedule is based on the University’s standard 1 hour lecture time of 50 minutes. The recording is triggered by an audio input from either the lectern or clip-on microphone. Lectopia “listens” for this audio input 2 minutes prior to the start of the schedule and a 5 minute overrun is enabled at the end of the scheduled period i.e. for a standard 1 hour lecture, Lectopia starts “listening” at 3 minutes past the hour and the recording ends at the “o’clock of the following hour. The recording is “audio-triggered”. This means that it will only start recording when the microphone first picks up sound after the system has started “listening”. To activate the recording you must first press the “Lectopia Record” button on the theatre control panel; this will enable the audio input from the microphone to trigger the Lectopia system and start the recording (provided you are within the scheduled recording period). The system will “listen”
