Besides being presented by Universal Studios, what makes Halloween Horror Nights different than other haunted mazes and houses?
Universal is the studio that invented the American horror movie. We’ve been making horror movies on this lot since the Silent Film era and I guess you can say Horror is in our blood. What differentiates us from other events is our brand of bringing famous horror movies to life, creating movie quality haunted attractions. And of course there’s the Terror Tram where you get to walk through some of the most famous areas of the Universal backlot (Psycho House, Bates Motel, War of the Worlds Plane Crash, etc.). Nothing like that exists anywhere else in the world. How did you start working for Universal? Did you always have interests in theme parks? I saw Frankenstein when I was 4 and became a lifelong Horror fan. I first came to Universal in the early 1970′s and was made up by one of the Westmores (the family of make-up artists who created Creature of the Black Lagoon, etc.).
