Calling Classical/opera singers- how high can a mezzo soprano sing, without voice strain, or injury?

WHOAAAAAAA. That Mezzo who had strain apparently didn’t know what she was doing. I am a Mezzo Soprano opera singer, and I have never strained from singing in a higher register. Erase all that in your mind, and let me give you a overview of the Mezzo voice and what is going on with your teacher. It doesn’t matter if you are talking lessons with a different voice type. A soprano can teach a mezzo if she has the know how, ability, and training to do it. if you know in your gut your teacher is GOOD at what she does, don’t worry about her voice type. However, you do find a few teachers who try to make all of their students in their studio imulate “their” instrument which is a HUGE NO NO! All instruments should be worked with according to their voice types. A dramatic soprano shouldn’t be trained to be a lyric soprano or mezzo, a lyric tenor shouldn’t be made to sound like a woofy baritone, etc. See what I am saying?
