Can A Coventry-Climax Engine (Or Other Engine) Be Fitted To The Westfield XI?

Yes, however there were many different varieties of the Climax engine. Westfield has specifically designed the XI to accept the BMC “A” Series engine, and while there are no specific mounting points for a Climax engine (and corresponding transmission), we are aware of several people configuring the Westfield XI with a Climax. Please contact us for further details. If you do choose to fit the XI with an alternate powerplant than the “A” Series, please be aware that the BMC “A” Series engine is 23 inches tall from the bottom of the oil pan to the top of the oil filler cap, and the XI’s bodywork is designed to just clear the engine.
