Can a small dog live outside permanently?
If your dog can’t live inside, then it is probably best that you wait. Small dogs can be kept outside, but you will not get what you really want from that type of dog. It is tough for a dog to socialize with people if it is constantly outside. This will also encourage boredom, which then leads to barking, digging, eating everything, scrapping at the door, and other annoying behaviors. You have a chance of depriving your poor puppy for needed socializing skills, house training and just basic house-manners. If you ever move to a dog-friendly house, your dog will find it extremely hard to adjust to life indoors. (not to mention housebreaking and potty training at an older age!)
