Can a woman be ordained a bishop, priest or deacon in the Episcopal Church?

0

Women are active in all levels of ministry in the Episcopal Church. We have women bishops, priests, deacons and lay persons who are part of the governance at every level. At its most recent General Convention which met in Columbus, Ohio in June 2006, Katharine Jefferts-Schori was elected Presiding Bishop (chief pastor and bishop) of the Episcopal Church. She is the first woman to be elected Primate (chief bishop) in any branch of the Anglican Communion.
