Can all MP3 players also be used as USB flash memory disks?

My former one could, but it was stolen. It was not a good product anyway. I sometimes in the gym listen to music but for work purposes I never seem to have USB memory although I have several drives. I am looking at a reasonably priced 4 MB MP3 player, and if it can double up as a flashdrive it will be wonderful. The salesman is not sure though.
