Can an infant be breastfed on lactating women other than its mother?

Yes an infant can be breastfed by someone other than it’s mother. Risks are minimal. It’s interesting that women feed their babies milk from unknown cows which seems a lot more risky to me. Milk sharing is quite common and you can actually find sites and groups that promote and/or support it. Breastmilk is the ideal and most perfect form of nutrition for human infant. When unable to provide your own milk, the next best thing is another woman’s milk. Women who usually share milk are nursing mom’s too and a mother who is giving her own baby her milk should be considered safe. my friend recently used a milk sharing site to provide milk to a couple who adopted a baby.

An infant can breast feed on another woman who has milk but I would not recommend it because you don’t know if she’s sick or has had a cigerette or alcoholic drink in the last few days and would not want your baby to get exposed to that.
