Can anyone explain counting carbs?

The 40/30/30 rule is just a percentage of what your daily intake of protein, carbs, and fat should be. I was taught that is was actually 40/40/20. So basically when you make up your plate, 40% of your caloric intake should come from protein, 40% from carbs, and 20% from fat. You don’t necessarily have to count carbs, you should be more concerned with the type of carb you are eating and the serving size. Stick with high fibre and low glycemic carbs, like whole wheat pasta or bread and brown rice. Your serving size should be no bigger than your fist. A plate full of pasta or rice is way too much. The trick to weight loss, if that’s your concern, is eating small portions multiple times a day. Like I said, take a protein serving and carb serving that is no bigger than your fist. That should be your entire meal (veggies can/should be added to every meal and don’t count as carbs – but no sauces, dips or butter!!). Eat a small meal like that five or six times a day, add in some exercise, drin
