Hi my son has haemophilia, treatment is quite good, the product used today is not a by blood product from humans or animals, its quite safe. My son who has severe haemophilia has treatment 3x a week where I inject factor VIII into the bloodstream which in lamans terms replaces his clotting factor but this only last for up to 8 hrs after his treatment then his blood levels will start to decline again, hence the need for 3x per week. Luckily we live in country where medical care is funded by the government as Factor VIII(the medicine) is very expensive. The gene is carried by the female and passed on to her male offspring. The only way a female will have haemophilia is if both mother and father have the defective gene, the mother will carry the gene and father will have haemophilia.A male with haemophilia cannot pass it to his sons, but will pass it to his daughters, then they will become carriers and may/may not pass it to there male offspring. theres 50 50 chance.
