Can anyone recommend a no-bark collar or method for my German Sheperd?
First, I must compliment you for providing a home to four dogs. I know it cam be a lot of work. My three dogs have become almost no trouble at all, but there were difficult times. It’s hard to say from what you’ve posted, but it sounds to me like you are not really the alpha dog to your German Shepard. The GS is telling the GR what the rank order of the pack is, and ideally you should be the one sending messages about this rank. It’s fine to have the Shepard a higher rank than the Retreiver, but you have to be the one saying so. It doesn’t mean you have to be a tyrant or a drill sergeant. I’ll recommend Cesar Millan, and I won’t be surprised if several other readers do as well. I would work with the Shepard one on one on a leash until she really understands that you are the calm confident leader, as Millan puts it. These things take time, but more training is always less time consuming than dealing with a problem. The other thing is consistency, and this is where I often fail. My dogs
