Can Aquarium Salt Kill my glass catfish?
Absolutely. All Catfish are quite sensitive to salt, and Glass Catfish are even more so. They don’t have scales, so they are incapable of correcting their osmoregulation, which essentially dehydrates them. EDIT: When treating tanks with scaleless fish, most medications suggest only using a half dose. Also, adding the aquarium salt will not do anything positive as far as killing Ich– table salt is what is usually used to kill Ich; aquarium salt raises the salinity a little bit, but is most effective at hardening the water.
