Can both knees be replaced at the same time?
It is possible to replace both knees at the same time. But doing both knees together may increase the risk of surgery and put slightly more stress on your heart and lungs. Surgeons differ in their opinions on this issue. We prefer to do the second knee one week after the first. Between surgeries, most patients stay in the hospital or spend a few days in a rehabilitation unit.
