Can Cantra be cured?
No. The cure was programmed into the game, but in the rush to release SI setting it to work was missed. The following text is from the SI usecode file, and seems to relate to a cure: “I feel tired, but I am all right! My mind was full of awful dreams. Thou hast saved me! I shall remember thee always!” • 13.1.9 Q: How do I blast my way through the debris in the Abandoned Outpost (SS)? A: You can’t easily. You attack the debris until it vanishes with melee weapons instead. Apparently it is possible to remove it with powder kegs, but it is extremely difficult to get the positioning correct. Even if you ‘get it right’, sometimes instead of working the game will crash out to DOS, which is why this is _particularly_ frustrating. It is _far_ easier to whip out a 2H sword and attack the debris till gone.
