Can concrete countertops stain?

0

All natural stone surfaces can stain if left unsealed. Concrete has approximately the same porosity as marble. Acids (ie red wine, berries, vinegar, lemon juice) can etch raw concrete if left in contact long enough. Thus, the quicker spills are wiped up, the better. Topical sealers/coatings are the most stain proof sealer option and can be offered from a matte to gloss finish. Concrete countertop sealers have improved dramatically in the last few years – the days of ‘concrete countertops always stain’ are behind us. Our sealer of chioce is Eco-Tuff Clear Coat from Eco Safety Products (www.ecoprocote.com). This is a non-toxic, soy-based, zero-VOC sealer with a gorgeous matte finish that we feel is the most environmentally friendly option for your home. This sealer provides a virtually stain proof surface for your counters.
