Can Construct do 3D?
The real answer to this is ‘no’, with the slight caveat that some basic 3D engines can be created, using the 3D Box object, 3D distort maps on sprites, and distort map meshes. However you can say that you cannot do ‘real’ 3D very easily, as in, load models and cameras and such, which has been done, but takes a lot of custom coding and knowledge to do. The 3D Box is an experimental plugin, the control over distort maps is minimal at least for transformations, and Construct was designed for 2D game development, not fully fledged 3D games. Although more 3D features is a possibility for the distant future, Construct is at the moment first and foremost a 2D game development program.
