Can DHEA help with reducing weight and increasing muscle bulk?
The answer to this question depends greatly on gender, age, and the dose of DHEA taken. When men with low levels of DHEA were given doses of 50 mg to 100 mg of DHEA per day, many showed a decrease in the percentage of body fat. Lean body mass (mostly muscle) can increase in both men and women. Surprisingly, studies using higher doses of DHEA in people with obesity have not found it to be consistently effective in promoting weight loss.
