Can electronics in the home attract lightning if turned on during thunderstorms?

It can certainly be damaged by it whether turned on or not, if it is connected to the power and/or to an antenna etc it can act as a conductor so in that sense it “attracts” it. The worst experience I had with lightning was an close hit where my house lights dipped down completely and back up again and there was a crack near a power outlet close to an antenna downlead. Fortunately I had just walked into the house in a big hurry having just arrived home as the storm peaked (close call I hate to think what could have happened had I been outside when it hit!), so didn’t have any electronics connected or goodness knows what might have happened to them. (It did take out the telephone service for a while but the phone itself wasn’t damaged.
