Can Event Alarm page us when a service – the Web Publishing Service, for example – fails?

Currently, our software does not directly monitor services, but if your service places error events or shutdown events in the application log, Event Alarm can be configured to screen for those events and alert you. Also, you can use the Performance Monitor tool built into Windows NT/2000/2003 to set up an event log based alert if a process terminates (e.g. the .EXE file where the service runs). Then setup a custom alarm in Event Alarm to send a notification if the Performance Monitor event ID and appropriate description is detected on that machine’s Application log.
