Can I brush my teeth before going under anesthetic?

Yes you can and I am pretty sure they would want you to brush your teeth that way there isn’t anything in your mouth that could lead to an infection. I hope you have stocked up on soft foods (like oatmeal, pudding, soup, ice cream stuff that doesn’t involve too much chewing). Also to help advance your healing I would gargle with warm salt water ( you may think it is going to burn but it doesn’t…trust me I just had mine extracted and that was beyond pain). Also have ice packs for the first 24 hours, and then after wards you can put a heating pad on to help release the tension in your muscles, because you will be sore. The reason why they don’t want you to eat anything is because the anesthesia that they are going to give you may upset your stomach so they don’t want anything in there in case you need to throw up.
