Can i email myself a software program?

Yes you can. You can email yourself a program using your account but only if the programs fits because there are limits to how large your attachments can be.

Hi there Probably not. When a program is installed it not only creates a folder for most of the bits and pieces used, but it often embeds special code and additional instructions to the computer operating system as to what to do with these bits. You can copy the folder and its contents, but unless you know what else was installed (and where it was installed) there is no way to back it up and move it to another computer. There is good news, though. When you first installed this software you probably entered some code or registration information. This is your ace-in-the hole. This info you provided at registration proves that you have the right to use the software. Most software makers will send you another copy of the installer CD as long as you can prove you are the original owner. Since you registered yourself as the owner, simply contact them and ask them for a duplicate copy of the software. They will probably want some $$$ for this to cover their expense, of they may direct you to

It is kinda hard to do that. The older applications you could get by copying from one PC to another. Newer applications use shared DLL files and also litter ones registry with entries needed to make the application work. This is a general statement. If the specific application you speak of is large, like office or an antivirus suite, it would be a waste of time to try. If it is a smaller program, less complex, such as a game, I probably could.

You can email it, but change the extension from .exe to say, .bxe, otherwise your ISP’s, windows email, and your anti-virus will delete it. Change the extension back to .exe once it’s arrived on your laptop.
