Generally speaking, chameleons should only be offered living gutloaded prey. If your chameleon has health issues that make feeding difficult (previous history of tongue injuries etc) and/or is on a specialized feeding plan involving temporary vet-recommended force feeding, consider feeding freshly killed or immobilized gutloaded insects. For force feeding mixtures, blending insects to liquid consistency will provide animals with a safe natural formula. Canned insects and/or reptile formula foods are not for chameleons.
