Can I install Knowledge Platform components onto a mapped network drive?

No. Knowledge Platform does not support being installed on network drives. While the installer will allow you to do this, the features may not behave correctly. Features should be installed locally on each desired machine using the complete single file installer (KPlat2.exe). This insures the presence of all required external components (VB, JVM, PTS, etc.) and the accessibility of all installed components as well.
