Can I learn Reiki through some sort of distant study course?
A. Yes but professional bodies will not recognise this sort of training at the present time, especially as there is a duty of care to the general public. In the UK, we are moving more and more towards a self-regulatory system, with more stringent rules for training. If you want to learn Reiki for your own spiritual development, distant learning would be appropriate. If you wish to practice Reiki on others, whether as a lay person or professional, it is highly recommended that you learn with a Reiki master teacher. As well, the spiritual path often brings up challenges because it triggers powerful energy shifts, so it is wise to have a teacher to turn to for advice, at least at the beginning of your journey.
