Can I search registry files and Windows index files (index.dat)?

Hurricane search can search registry files. To search a registry file, search NTUSER.DAT in the users “Documents and Settings” user directory. Hurricane Search will perform a binary search of the registry file. It can only do this for users that are not currently logged in (windows won’t allow searching the current users registry file). Hurricane Search will also search other *.dat index files (containing cookies, urls, history, etc).
