Can I sue for wrongful termination?

There is more to this than just a paper being thrown or not thrown you obviously did not have a good relationship with your boss even before this. “At will” means exactly that unless you are being let go because of race, sex, religion or age then you do not have a basis to sue. Based on the way you have written your question you are obviously still very angry about this and that is normal but you have to get past it. No one wants to hire a bitter person so don’t bring this baggage to an interview. Try to look at it as an opportunity to find a job with a manager that you can respect and enjoy working with.
