Can I take more than one course simultaneously? But what if Financial Aid requires a minimum of 5 credits?

Experience has shown that it is very difficult to take more than a single course if you have a job, a family, or other important commitments. Therefore we strongly discourage doubling up, particularly when taking STAT 520, STAT 530, or STAT 640. The exception is that students usually take STAT 501 (a one-credit course) with another course whenever it is convenient for them. Additionally, STAT 586 (also a one-credit course) is often taken simultaneously with another course (usually STAT 640). Some students find that they need to take more than one course to qualify for financial aid. However, your employer may find it more profitable to cough up the extra money for tuition and have you remain a productive worker.
