Of course you can use a power inverter DC to AC as a back up source of power! Many people use a power inverter to generate their home’s power in temporary outage situations because a power inverter is a simple and reliable source of emergency energy when your home power has gone out and you must have a backup temporary source of power. All you would need to do is hook your DC to AC inverter to your vehicle’s battery and plug an extension cord into the power inverter’s outlet. Then run the extension cord to whatever you need to supply power to in your home. At this point, you can plug any appliance in to the extension cord to provide the power you need to run it.
