Can I use an Ovulation Predictor test if I am using certain injectable fertility drugs?

The fertility drugs Pergonal, Humegon and Repronex may contain enough LH to cause a false positive. The drugs Gonal-F, Follistim and Fertinex do not contain LH and should not have any effect on the ovulation test. However, with any of these drugs, the follicle size should be checked via ultrasound and an HCG trigger administered to cause ovulation, rather than using an ovulation test. Most women do not have a natural surge in LH levels while using fertility drugs. Some doctors may suggest that an ovulation test be used in addition to an ultrasound, but they should not recommend using an ovulation test only with no ultrasound.
