Can I use Duty Free Spirits (DFS) for scientific research?

0

Scientists may be able to receive DFS. Details of what qualifies as scientific use are: • analytical research or other laboratory purposes, or physical testing. Please note: this does not include routine cleaning of work areas etc; you should apply to receive one of the denatured alcohol grades • teaching purposes • commercial project research and development where small quantities of spirits only are required. Please note: if a pilot development is subsequently scaled up to commercial manufacture, you are still required by law to demonstrate that denatured alcohol is unsuitable for use in the manufacturing process. We advise you to take this into consideration before commencing trial work. See Public Notice 47 for more details.
