Can I use NICATS points against any course? How do I know that a college or university will accept my previous study and recognise its true value?
All courses which have been written to NICATS specifications will be assigned general credit. When NICATS is fully operational all education and training providers will recognise NICATS credits. However, the portion of general credit which can be put towards another course (‘cashed in’) depends on how much of your general credit is relevant to the course you are applying for. This relevant portion is called specific credit.
