Can I use other Encoding Software and have Flumotion working only as a server?
No. Right now the Flumotion Streamer only works with the Flumotion Encoder, so you won´t be able to serve files with Flumotion using Windows, Flash or any other media encoder rather than ours. However, remember that our solution is end-to-end multiformat (Encoder+Server), so with Flumotion Software you won´t need to use and pay anymore for all your previous Flash, Windows, Icecast streaming servers you had. With Flumotion Software multiformat technology your can stream all!
