Can I use the active current input module 2012A in place of the passive current input module 2002A?

On my current installation I have installed two 2012 2-wire transmitter input modules. The correct modules should be 2002 as the transmitter is a “4-wire” device. The ViZapp is configured as a “passive” input module. The two 2012 modules seem to work perfectly. (We took a 2002 module from another module and it gave the identical reading as the 2012.) Am I going to have trouble with using the 2012’s configured as passive? This may work just fine … IF the transmitter can dissipate the extra voltage, without overheating or breaking down. This answer is based on the assumption that the transmitter’s power supply is connected in series with the module’s power supply. If the transmitter has an internal supply, its specifications probably do not indicate what the maximum supply voltage can be. If you are using an external bulk supply with a 2-wire transmitter, you should have access to this rating. How do I transfer data from MOD 30ML/Modcell to Microsoft Excel Spread sheet?
