A. Use of the GPS 18 PC/USB with MapSource BlueChart is very limited. The GPS 18 PC/USB unit will provide a position on the BlueChart detailed maps, but it will not provide navigation information on the detailed charts of the BlueChart Software. This means that the software cannot create routes on the PC to navigate to, but it will show the position as it moves through the mapping area. The position will be displayed on the highly detailed marine charting of MapSource BlueChart. In order to employ the full capability of the MapSource BlueChart program, a Garmin Marine GPS Chartplotter would be ideal.
