NetViz is only forwards compatible. Therefore you cannot open version 6 diagrams in version 5. There is no option to save a diagram as an earlier version of netViz. You can however open version 5 diagrams in version 6. Version 3D and version 5 files are fully interchangeable, however the 3D view option is lost if 3D diagrams are opened in version 5.
