The location of a position is not a classification factor under DCIPS. Position classification under DCIPS considers the overall nature and purpose of the position’s duties and responsibilities, along with the required qualifications. A position’s classification is based on work that is performed on a regular and frequent basis, is crucial to the position’s primary purpose, and governs the primary qualifications.
