Can Magellan funds be used for a study abroad trip?
It depends. Magellan funds cannot be used to pay for tuition or expenses related to a credit-bearing experience offered by another institution (or third-party provider). It is possible, though, to use Magellan funds to support an independent project done in conjunction with a study abroad trip. For example, Magellan would not pay for your tuition costs to study art history in Italy through another school/program; but you could propose to do a separate research/exploration project while you are in Italy. In such a case, Magellan funds could help you be able to extend your stay or take separate side travels in support of your project.
