Can ocular rosacea cause permanent damage to the eyes?
Answer Ocular rosacea can cause blepharitis (inflammation of the eyedlids), conjunctivitis, and rarely inflammation of the cornea (rosacea keratitis). This can lead to scarring of the cornea and loss of sight. This may occur in less than 5% of cases. Routine eye examination as determined by your dermatologist & ophthalmologist would be useful in determining the ocular effects of rosacea (if any).
