Can ovulation predictor kits give wrong readings?
Ovulation predictor kits can be tricky because to get a positive reading you don’t only need to see a line like on a pregnancy test. The line has to be as dark as or darker than the control line. That being said, if you actually did get a positive you should ovulate between 12-36 hours after that. Since you just came off birth control pills that can affect your cycle because your body has to get regulated to start ovulating again. So it is common that you can have some break through bleeding on your first cycle off the pills. Since the brown spotting is after your period was supposed to come it is probably your period and not implantation. Implantation happens 6-12 days after ovulation.
