Can someone hack into my computer with my IP address and Truetech Webcam?
This question has actually crossed the minds of a few people…let me see if I can give ya a little insight to how the IP address works : The only way for this person to get in, is if you had an open port. Your computer’s internet connection consists of thousands of ports. These ports are what you use to access different things on the internet. Some ports are made to “listen” for someone on the outside to connect to you. This is the only way a person could get in (and, I might add, a person from the “outside”, can not open ports on your computer, or make the port ‘listen’) If you’d like, you can invest in a nice Antivirus program. This can scan your computer for “trojan” viruses, which have been known to open ports on computers to give others access. Scanning your computer for viruses will remove any trojans that may exist on your computer.

When the Webcam program is open, click on the Security tab. Did you set a Userid and password? If not, you’ll want to do that now. When you’re finished, click ‘Update’.
