Can the Croozer Axle Mounted Hitch coupling be used on bikes made with carbon fiber, titanium or very thin-walled aluminum tubing?
Yes. However, Croozer Designs does not recommend using bikes made of these lightweight, high performance materials, not because they are incompatible with the Croozer (they are), but because these machines are built for fast speeds, not the slow recreational speeds needed for safety while pulling a trailer. Again: you may use a ‘racing’ bike, but you’ll have more fun on a more ‘leisure’ oriented bike. If you are in super shape, go for it! Just read your Owner’s Manual about reducing speed. This is very important, as any trailer can tip and excess speed is a contributing factor to tip overs. If you are in average shape, and familiar with bikes, remember that the gearing on your road bike is likely not low enough to make going uphill enjoyable with a loaded Croozer!
