Can the NDAR GUID be used for research purposes, even if there are no plans to share research data with the NDAR Portal?
NDAR recognizes that an efficient method to identify a research subject without the need to distribute personally identifiable information (PII) is of value to the ASD research community. Therefore, NDAR will support ASD researchers interested in using the NDAR GUID for this purpose, even if the researcher has no immediate plans to share data with NDAR or an NDAR federated data resource. Researchers interested in using NDAR for this purposes are still required to complete the NDAR Submission Agreement describing their plans for the use of the NDAR GUID. For researchers conducting research in areas other than ASD or interested in hosting the GUID software, first contact NDAR to discuss your needs. The NDAR Data Access Committee (DAC) will review and approve/deny the use of the NDAR GUID based upon the stated purpose.
